Low pressure system brings rain/snow mix before transitioning to all snow on Sunday

Chinook winds returned to north central Montana today allowing temperatures to warm back above average.

Strong wind gusts will taper off this evening.

Overnight low temperatures will be above average.

A low pressure system will bring a mix of rain and snow and will move into southwest and north central Montana Sunday morning before transitioning to all snow.

The heaviest snow is expected Sunday afternoon and evening.

Snow will linger through Monday morning.

Lower elevations will generally see about 1-3 inches, but with heavier bands setting up in central Montana, locally higher amounts can be expected.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect due to the hazardous travel conditions expected on Sunday.

Tuesday will be dry before chances of snow return again on Wednesday.
