Heather Lynne Marie Bachtell has been charged with one felony and four misdemeanors after allegedly injuring two police officers while being arrested.

Court documents state that police officers responded to a residence when a neighbor reported that there was a woman inside. The caller said he knew that the tenant of the apartment was currently incarcerated and believed the woman’s presence inside may have been suspicious.

When officers talked with Bachtell, she initially identified herself as Leanne and gave a false date of birth. Officers then contacted the owner of the apartment, who said he did not know anyone by that name.

Once officers confirmed that she was actually Heather Bachtell, they discovered that there was a no-bond warrant for her arrest due to a probation violation.

When officers tried to arrest her, Bachtell refused to comply with their order, and allegedly pulled away and would not allow herself to be handcuffed. Officers had to force her to the ground, and Bachtell allegedly began to roll around and kick her legs, causing minor injuries to two officers.

Bachtell was then taken to the Cascade County Detention Center, and a search of her belongings turned up a glass pipe with residue, and two syringes that contained a liquid that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Bachtell is charged with possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and the following misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing a peace officer, and resisting arrest.

Court documents state that Bachtell has convictions for criminal endangerment, partner/family member assault, revocation of sentence, and violating release conditions.

Prosecutors requested that bond for Bachtell be set at $15,000 bond.
