GREAT FALLS — An officer assigned to the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base was court-martialed on a charge of illegal use of controlled drugs (ecstasy), and on Wednesday evening, she was found guilty.

Second Lieutenant Nicole Dalmazzi is assigned to the 12th Missile Squadron at Malmstrom.

Dalmazzi was originally charged with violating two articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which governs all military personnel: article 112A, Wrongful Use of a Schedule I, II, or III Drug; and article 134, Obstructing Justice.

Joshua Aycock, a spokesman at Malmstrom, said that the charge of obstruction came about when Dalmazzi reportedly dyed her hair in order to alter the results of potential hair-follicle drug tests. The obstruction was dropped, however.

The General Court Martial resulted in Dalmazzi being sentenced to one month of confinement, and ordered to be dismissed from the service.
