This week’s One Class At A Time recipient is C. R. Anderson Middle School Spanish teacher Dana Swingley.
Swingley is helping her growing students have a more productive learning experience.
Members of First Interstate Bank were joined by KXLH to surprise Swingley with a $250 check.
The money from the grant will be used to buy alternative seating options for her classroom.
Swingley said some of her middle school students are a bit awkward in their growing bodies and alternative seating can help them be more productive.
“Not every student learns the same and some of our traditional seating is more of a detriment than alternative seating,” said Swingley.
Swingley will be able to provide six ball seats for her students thanks to the One Class At A Time grant.
For more than a decade, First Interstate Bank and MTN have partnered for the One Class at a Time grant.
The mission of the grant is to foster educational opportunities for local teachers and students.
A panel of retired teachers and school officials select the grant recipients from a pool of submitted applications.
