Firefighters in Great Falls are making sure kids have the coats they need to stay warm this winter.

The firefighters delivered 220 new winter coats to the Head Start preschool program on Monday morning.

This is part of the fire department’s annual "Operation Warm" program. The coats were donated through Set Free Church in Great Falls by the DownPour organization.

"We've been working with the Head Start program for a couple years now. I don't know exactly how many, but we're just getting coats to the community where they can make a difference,” firefighter Ryan Olson said.

Firefighters plan to give out around 1,000 coats.

Organizations in need can call the Great Falls Firefighter’s Union at 406-727-3831.
