Helena firefighters raise $13,000 during “Fill the Boot” campaign

Helena firefighters have raised about $13,000 for a good cause through their annual “Fill the Boot” fundraiser.

The Helena Firefighters IAFF Local 448 took to the streets Friday afternoon to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

They collected donations from passing drivers at the intersection of Last Chance Gulch and Lyndale Avenue.

Firefighters around the country take part in the “Fill the Boot” campaign.

The money they raise helps fund research into muscular dystrophy, and pays for kids with the muscle disease to attend summer camp.

The totals are in! Just shy of $13,000 not counting change! Thank you Helena for your overwhelming support! That is a large amount for helping kids with Muscular Dystrophy! #mda #helenafirefighters #448
