(HELENA) Emergency crews responded to a fire at an apartment building on Lyndale Avenue in Helena early Sunday.

About 13 people were living in the building, according to Battalion Chief Cory O’Brian of the Helena Fire Department.

There have been no serious injuries reported.

City building inspectors have now deemed it “uninhabitable,” unsafe, and against the law for anyone to go in.

It will be boarded up later today.

O’Brian said it will likely be a total loss.

The residents have been receiving some assistance, and have been put up in motels and other places around the city.

There are still some smoldering areas, and HFD will likely be on scene another hour.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
