(HELENA) Jorel Quiroz has been charged with kidnapping and rape in Helena.
Police arrested 29-year-old Quiroz on Saturday after a woman texted 911 and said she was being held against her will.
The woman told police that Quiroz had demanded the woman drive him around on Friday, and when they arrived back at his residence, he assaulted her, threatened to kill her, and tied her hands.
She also told police that he had held a knife to her, and at one point, strangled her with a phone cord.
Prosecutors say in court documents the woman feared for her life.
Following his arrest, police reported finding suspected methamphetamine, and that Quiroz had to be Tased when he assaulted two detention officers in the jail.
He has been charged with several felonies, including sexual intercourse without consent, kidnapping, strangulation, assault with a weapon, and assault on a peace officer.
Bond for Quiroz was set at $100,000.
